Aflare Systems to Design DTN Demonstration Platform for Spacecraft Communications for Canadian Space Agency

Brampton, ON - February 3, 2016 - Aflare Systems Inc. (Aflare) to design Delay/Disruption Tolerant Networking (DTN) for spacecraft communications analogue demonstration platform for Canadian Space Agency (CSA).

The contract was awarded to Aflare to enable CSA to evaluate application of Delay and Disruption Tolerant Network (DTN) infrastructure as a step towards building Solar System Internet in collaboration with other agencies and provide efficient and autonomous communication capabilities of space assets. The technology (identified as a priority technology) developed under this contract is in line with Aflare’s existing product portfolio, current research activities and will further enhance company know-how in the area of space communication systems. This technology if successful, will also have direct use and application in communications for remote Earth regions, UAV/UAS applications as well as Internet of Things (IoT) for both military and civilian sectors.
